Women to Women Giving Circle Grant Presentations
1-3 p.m. Dec. 7 at ISU Alumni Center, Normal

The Women to Women Giving Circle will hold presentations for grant finalists from 1-3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at the Illinois State University Alumni Center, 1101 N. Main St., Normal. Applicant organizations were asked to collaborate with another nonprofit on their programs. Each of the four grant finalists will discuss their proposed programs and how they align with the 2018 grant focus: Programs that offer early intervention to children ages 0-5 and their support networks. The Women to Women committee has $40,000 to fund the 2018 grants.

Second Chance and Family Connection Summit
10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Dec. 9 at YWCA McLean County

Cabrini Green Legal Aid (CGLA) is partnering with Central Illinois organizations to host a Second Chance and Family Connection Summit for residents of McLean, DeWitt, Livingston and Logan counties. The summit will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, at YWCA McLean County, 1201 N. Hershey Rd., Bloomington. The summit provides the opportunity for people to receive legal consultations to address barriers posed by past arrests and convictions. Arrests and convictions records can pose barriers in so many areas of a person’s life. Volunteers for the event are needed – get more information here.


Women to Women Fall Forum
4:30-6 p.m. Sept. 19, 2017 at ISU’s Alumni Center 

Illinois Prairie Community Foundation’s Women to Women Giving Circle will host a Community Conversation on Early Intervention from 4:30-6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, at the Illinois State University Alumni Center, 1101 N. Main St., Normal. Women to Women is looking to add new voices and foster collaboration within our community to help address this issue. Nonprofit organizations in Central Illinois and others interested in improving the lives of women and girls are invited to attend. The event also introduces Women to Women’s grant focus for 2018 – programs that seek to offer early intervention to children ages 0-5 and their support networks (family, teachers, caregivers) to pave the way for girls to achieve their highest potential. W2W encourages interested nonprofits to work each other to address a need and submit a grant together. The grant application window will be open from October 1 – October 31, 2017.

Women Together Art Show & Sale
May 23-24, 2017 at Monroe Building, Bloomington 

This art show and sale featured paintings by Women to Women Giving Circle founding member Gayle Miller, with works by members of Inside Out Accessible Art also for sale. Gayle donated 40 percent of her sales to the Giving Circle, for a gift of more than $1,300.
