Women to Women Community Issues Forum – “It’s Beyond Me: Collaboration Creates Results”
Wednesday, April 19, 2017, 4:30 – 6:30 pm, ISU Alumni Center, 1101 N Main St, Normal
The United Way of McLean County’s 2014 Community Assessment found that while there are many health and human service agencies in our area that are staffed with dedicated individuals, collaboration and cooperation among providers remains a challenge. In the intervening years, progress has been made, but as state funding is not forthcoming and federal funding may be cut as well, it is even more important that entities in the nonprofit sector (agencies, governmental bodies, and schools) find means of joining forces and combining resources to address community needs. Join us for a conversation about community collaboration initiatives. We’ll see examples of successful collaborations and discuss what we as a community can do to further encourage partnerships. Panelists include: Dontae Latson, CEO/President of YWCA McLean County, Mary Campbell, co-founder of Labyrinth Outreach Services for Women, Rebecca Kinsey, The Baby Fold social worker embedded at Fairview Elementary School, and Lori Harrison, Principal at Fairview Elementary School.
